About Local 4

Built by Broadcast Workers. Run by Broadcast Workers.

IBEW Local 4 has represented the men and women of the broadcast industry in the St. Louis region since 1940. We negotiate contracts, protect jobs, and fight for the wages and benefits our members deserve.

Since 1940

Our History

IBEW Local 4 was chartered in 1940, bringing together the broadcast technicians, camera operators, and production workers who built St. Louis television and radio from the ground up.

Over nine decades, our members have worked through the transition from black-and-white to color, from analog to digital, and from broadcast towers to streaming platforms — always ensuring that the people behind the cameras are treated with dignity and paid a fair wage.

Today, Local 4 represents workers across every major broadcast and production facility in the region, maintaining the strong contracts and member services that have defined our local for generations.
